Coordination office for mobile contact point for women on the move

Start: 2022

The idea for ROSA (Rolling Safespace) was born in Lebanon, where two of the founding members were working. There, a group of women in a camp expressed the wish for a course for women only. The resulting program offered a protected space for women. Based on this, the non-profit association ROSA e.V. was founded in March 2021 to offer such spaces.

Since March 8, 2022, the Rolling Safespace (a converted truck) has been at its first location: the Attica peninsula in Greece, where three refugee shelters north of Athens are regularly visited: Ritsona, Malakasa and Oinofyta. A total of around 3,500 people live there.

Specifically, a space for exchange and mutual support will be created in the immediate vicinity of the camps. In discussion groups, topics can be discussed for which there is often no room (e.g. questions about the body). Basic medical care and pregnancy consultations are offered by midwives and doctors in a separate treatment room in the truck. Urgently needed hygiene articles are also distributed here. ROSA also organizes a wide range of sports and exercise activities. Childcare is provided at the same time so that women have the opportunity to take advantage of these offers.

The Foundation :do supports the crew’s coordination office with €2,000.
