MigraNet Thuringia

The State Association of Migrant Organizations – MigraNetz Thüringen e.V. has been networking and representing the political, economic, social and cultural interests of 63 migrant organizations and the municipal migration, integration and foreigners’ advisory councils in the Free State of Thuringia since it was founded in 2015. The aim of our association is to structurally strengthen the migrant organizations in Thuringia and their members, to increase their ability to act and their visibility.
The project for which we have submitted an application is the “Winter Lights of Diversity” event. With this event, we are offering a public space for culture and exchange beyond negative narratives. We want to celebrate migrants, their organizations and cultures. We want to show that we are here to celebrate and live together, that cultural diversity is enriching and that, at the core, we are all the same as human beings. By referencing the Christmas season, we aim to create a warm, inclusive and festive environment that is familiar to the majority community.
