RAA Hoyerswerda East Saxony
Start: December 2024
Our aim is to continue the women’s meeting place in order to empower this vulnerable group and help them to arrive and stay.
As the center of the family, the women learn about structures in Germany, such as the education system, the healthcare system, writing job applications, etc.
We have been able to achieve a great deal through this project in recent years. The women’s meeting place not only served as a meeting point, but was also a space for women in this city to meet and enrich themselves. This year, 672 women have already sought out encounters, and 790 people from Hoyerswerda have been guests at meeting cafés and other events – regardless of how long they have lived here or where they came from. Many of the migrants were empowered, took up training or work, got their driver’s license and proved their skills in internships. The project has built valuable bridges in recent years and supported many people on their path to integration.
In several workshops, we have trained multipliers who can now help others to help themselves. Our volunteer mentors, German teachers and childcare workers can no longer provide optimal support as previous funding has ceased.
