SPIKE Dresden e.V. is a recognized, independent provider of child and youth welfare services in Dresden and has developed into a sought-after place for encounters, education, understanding and integration. With the SPIKE World project applied for here, we want to address and reach the target group of young migrants using hip hop as a method. Hip hop is a culture that is inherently multicultural and global. This makes hip hop an ideal platform for reaching migrant target groups, as it can incorporate their experiences, languages and identities.
Through its elements such as dance and graffiti, hip hop offers a creative form of expression that appeals to young people and can play an important role in integration. We are planning regular workshops in breaking and graffiti with recognized artists from House Of Urban Culture gGmbH to give the young migrant target group access and participation and to enable them to try out hip-hop culture.
