Afropa
Start: December 2024
The Afropa e.V. association has been campaigning against racism and discrimination since it was founded in 2003. Particularly in eastern Germany, children and young people with experience of migration and flight are affected by discrimination, hostility, exclusion and hate speech, including psychological abuse, especially in schools.
We want to sensitize children in schools with professional education in the form of workshops, independent of the commitment of individual teachers, in order to act against racism in a future-oriented manner. This educational work makes it possible for children and young people with experience of migration and flight to experience equal participation, make friends and receive support from educational staff at schools. The children use interactive presentations to learn about racism, the history of its origins, how to recognize it in everyday life and how they can act without putting themselves in danger. The use of media and the recognition of “fake news” also play a role.
