Europe Cares

Start: July 2024

Europe Cares is running a community center on Lesvos, Paréa Lesvos, located at close proximity from the CCAC. Here, hundreds of camp residents come every day to access a wide range of services including basic needs, legal and psychosocial support, education and integration offers. Most importantly, here they can feel safe and welcome, surrounded by a community and treated with dignity and compassion. Furthermore, Paréa is not only a beacon of hope for the camp community but also a home for the 10+ partner organizations
that are working alongside Europe Cares offering their services to the visitors.

During a recent needs assessment conducted with the visitors it was made clear that reaching the center by walking is difficult for some people, especially women and children, disabled people and the elderly. In order to make our center even more inclusive and offer the same opportunities to everyone, we would like to set up a shuttle that could pick up the most vulnerable visitors. This service would allow more families to attend the center, allowing the children to play in a safe and welcoming environment while the parents are accessing
crucial services such as legal support or language classes. It would also encourage the most vulnerable people to get out of the camp and distract themselves from the difficult living conditions they endure every day. This can have a great impact on their mental and
physical wellbeing.

The :do foundation will fund Europe Cares e.V. to set up a shuttle that will pick up the most vulnerable visitors.
